Rollerdance in SF
CELL space, 2050 Bryant St., has been the home of Rollerdance jam since last February. The building, whose name stands for Collectively Explorative Learning Labs, is home to a woodshop, artist studios, an AV production lab, the Crucible Steel Gallery, a dance floor, a sound coop and a metal shop. With all the work space available, CELL offers an array of classes such as trapeze techniques, doll making, capoeira, Japanese side-sewn bookbinding and hip-hop history. The large dance floor in combination with the high ceilings and open center makes for the optimal skating experience.
Beyond the CELL space, rollerdance happens every Sunday in Golden Gate Park. The location, usually at Sixth Avenue and JFK, has been moved to the pavement circle beside the Arboretum until roadwork is completed at the original place.
For more information about rollerdance and skate equipment, call Skates on Haight (1818 Haight St.) at 415.752.8375
