Rockaway Beach

Every other geek who picks up a guitar has some starstruck HTML jock out there posting adoring on-line paeans, so it's about time there was a web site devoted to the most ultimately incredible rock and roll band ever to trod the face of the globe (and that's just one man's opinion), the Ramones. Unfortunately, there's not much on this site as yet. The lyric archive is fine, but unnecessary. Los Ramonas have printed lyrics on every album they've ever cut except Animal Boy--and that one's not transcribed here. The guitar tablatures may be of somewhat more use. The selection of downloadable sound clips is sparse, but the most amusing part of the site: they're all from the Simpsons episode which guest-starred the band playing "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Burns. Johnny Ramone delivers his classic line, "Hey, up yours, Springfield!" Give this site time--its heart is in the right place. For slicker, but even less comprehensive approach, blitzkrieg bop on over to the Ramones page at Radioactive Records (JV)
